JUNE PROGRAM

Dr. Scott Keadle

Raised in the mountains of West Virginia, Scott attended the U.S. Air Force Academy and was honorably discharged from active duty in 1983. He began his study of chemistry at West Virginia University where in 1989 he earned a Doctorate in Dental Surgery. Dr. Keadle moved to NC in 1990, and has treated over 10,000 dental patients in his practice, providing jobs for many. As Chair of the Community Care committee, Dr. Keadle helped start a free dental clinic for people in need and currently provides free dentistry for disabled and elderly people in cooperation with the National Foundation of Dentistry for the Handicapped.

As a former Families For Kids Partner and current Director on the Board of Stop Child Abuse Now (SCAN), Scott has been a vocal advocate for the protection of abused children, and many other charitable causes. He has been a conservative

activist since 1996 and was the 1998 Republican Congressional nominee in North Carolina’s 12th District. In 2008 he was elected to the Iredell County Commission. The Statesville paper called Commissioner Keadle "the most conservative voice on a board full of conservatives" Iredell County spending was reduced by more than 10% during Scott’s term on the Board.

Scott is currently the South-Central Regional Chairman for Americans for Prosperity NC, where he advocates for smaller government and more freedom for NC families and businesses. His topic for the luncheon will be current issues, and will explain why his company is making a positive difference in our country's future.

BOOK NEWS
Dr. Clare Gray spoke to MRW in April, and mentioned his book that was due to be published.

Here is a link for The Battle for America's Soul. The book not only reframes the healthcare debate for the 2012 elections and lays out the basis of conservative thought, it expands the battle of world views beyond health care to the other major issues facing our nation, i.e the rule of law (Supreme Court), foreign policy, education, and the implications of postmodern politics. It is easy to order, you will enjoy reading this most informative book!
