Welcome to the Moore Republican Women Website Legislative Affairs News and Resources Upcoming Events Useful Web Links About Moore Republican Women

This is called the EMERGING ISSUES because we can and do make a difference when we stand up and demand that our views be counted.  As you/we become aware of important issues that are just beginning to surface we'll inform you via the website and also emails.  Stay tuned - as we get them they will be posted!

Do we make a difference?  Look at the defeat of the bill that would have assisted illegal immigrants to gain many benefits as illegals.  We've made a difference in our support for the passage of Jessica's Law.  We slowed the passage of the Healthcare law by almost a year, and raised consciousness throughout America!

You are one person, and you, and you, and you.  One by one by one we DO MAKE A DIFFERENCE.

Check out the issues, and take stands for America.  The future of this country, the future of your children, can be affected by the stands we take today.

Legislative Alert from Linda Jarrett....

The Caucus and Primary season has officially begun, indicating the actual election year . Thus, the Presidential campaign is officially in full swing! It's time for all citizens who understand the severity of the "change" occurring in the past 3 years to recognize that 2012 is an historic year, whose election outcomes will determine our future decades.  You, and our Country are facing a history-changing choice: Do you choose inaction and continuation of a progressively socialistic way of life which restricts individual choices and opportunities, the dwindling number of "producers" having greater portions of their resources taken to support an ever-increasing number of "takers"...--- OR, do you choose to join the struggle to take back our Country, initiating the return to a system of checks and balances, essentially regulation-free, and a return to fiscal sanity as envisioned by our Founding Fathers?  The former promises financial collapse and uniform, equally-shared mediocrity. The latter's promise is achievement of any goal any citizen can envision -- free of "Big Gov" over-regulation, crippling taxation, and, intrusions into every aspect of daily life -- in short, a reversal of the former deterioration, with return to the system and society existent pre-WWII -- which produced the most vibrant financial, educational, and free society in recorded history.  When asked in the future years about what YOU did - what was your contribution to the struggle in 2012, what will you be able to reply? What can YOU do to influence the outcome of this election year? Plenty!!

The Goals:

  • Moore County: "Get Out the Vote". Educate Republican and Independent voters on the issues.

  • North Carolina: Elect Pat McCrory as Governor. Elect a GOP Candidate as Lt. Governor. "Hold" the GOP majority in the Senate. Increase the GOP numbers in the House. l

  • Federal Level: Elect a Republican President (whomever that candidate may be!) Achieve a GOP majority in the Senate. "Hold", even increase, the majority in the House Action Choices: Cover GOP soon-to-be announced headquarters handing out campaign materials, answering questions, etc. -- Participate in the "Phone Bank" . Make "GOTV" calls for Moore County, or, for out-of-county or even out-of-state campaigns.

  • Hand out "Campaign Issues" Fact Sheets to neighbors, at shopping center locations, etc.

  • Distribute "door hangers" in your Precinct. Help Precincts with insufficient Volunteers. Write 'Letters to the Editor".

  • Email information, fact sheets, etc., to Friends and Family across the country.

  • Enlist assistance with phone calling from friends and family - here and across the country. Consider which of these activities you wish to support. Choose an amount of time you can devote to them each week. You can make a real difference with one or two hours, consistently provided. Obviously, more time will constitute a greater effect.

  • When asked in future years what you did to save your Country, what will you be able to answer?

BE BOLD. BE PROUD.

TAKE ACTION NOW
YOUR & YOUR FAMILY'S FUTURES DEPEND UPON IT!!

Magnify your effort and effect by sending this webpage to friends and family -- both in NC and across the Country!

* NOTE: as a practical matter, the House may, at the last minute, feel compelled to trade permanent changes in our spending patterns for, hopefully, a short-term minimal amount of increase in the Debt Ceiling (enabling sufficient cuts to not raise it further). However, the Board's letter, and, your contacts should reflect that "standing strong" should be the first stance - for an extended period - for the reasons given, above.

As a last minute, last ditch, position by the House, "Hold" The Speaker to his statement:" it would be more irresponsible to raise the debt ceiling without simultaneously taking dramatic steps to reduce spending and reform the budget process.” (you should always be politely supportive) And, such reductions and reforms should be real, legislated, and, permanent!
