PRESIDENT'S
MESSAGE from Lane Bergstrom....
February
has been a busy month for MRW. It
began with our monthly luncheon, presenting
the candidates for Lt. Governor speaking on
their reasons to run for the office.
The two who spoke were Dan Forest and Dale
Folwell. Tony Gurley was unable to attend. It
was a very enlightening
meeting, full of good information, intelligent
and aggressive remarks. The following weekend,
six of our members
drove to Greenville, NC for the NCFRW Winter
Board Meeting, with several interesting
speakers who gave advice
about how to approach the coming election. We
brought home an excellent agenda for a win in
November with annotations
of items to be accomplished before the state
and national campaigns get underway. If we all
put in 110%, and
then some, our efforts will be rewarded. Do
not miss our March 5 speaker, Mary Frances
Forrester to speak on the
Marriage Amendment, which will be on the May
Primary ballot. She has so much to share with
us. One
thing to remember: T to the 3rd power – Tell
The Truth! Our biggest problem to face with
the current administration
is that they will not tell the truth. The man
occupying the White House is the poster child
for arrogance!
We must
make the difference count in the months
ahead!!

MARCH
PROGRAM
Speaker:
Mary Frances Forrester
Attention:
The May 8, 2012 primary election will
offer a vote for or against the Marriage
Protection Amendment. Passing this amendment
is the #1 priority for the NCFRW. Plan to
attend our March 5 luncheon to hear the
dynamic Mary Frances Forrester speak about
this amendment to defend traditional marriage.
A
lifelong public servant and parliamentarian,
Mary Frances Forrester attended Jordan College
of Music, Butler University,
and graduated from Wake Forest University’s
Bowman Gray School of Cytotechnology.
Following her career
in the health-care field, Mrs. Forrester made
public service and activism her calling,
serving in increasingly responsible
positions in Republican Women's groups at the
county, state and national levels as well as
other volunteer and
charitable organizations. Her husband,
James S. Forrester, served eleven terms in the
NC Senate. From
1997 to 2007, Mary Frances Forrester served as
Parliamentarian of the NCGOP Executive
Committee, and from 2000-2006,
she served as NCGOP Convention
Parliamentarian. As
Mary Frances says of herself, “Beginning my
career as a professional model, ballet dancer,
choreographer and arts patron,
I changed directions when I married my husband
(Jim) and received a fellowship to become a
Cytoetchnologist at
Wake Forest University Baptist Hospital. I
worked there until we started our family. As
our four children grew up, I began
serving in various local and community arts,
service volunteer and political organizations.
Now, with over 30 years
of volunteer public service on the local,
state and national level, I am still actively
participating as a true defender of
conservative Christian principals, good public
policy based on America's founding principles
and benevolent service organizations.“ |
