Bylaws

SPECIAL NOTE:  Three bylaw changes (link here) were presented to MRW members on Monday, 2/1 at the regular MRW Luncheon Meeting.  The first bylaw was not passed.  The second and third bylaws were passed.   A quorum was determined to be present.  Each vote required a 2/3 majority of voting members present.

Note: The first sentence of the last paragraph in the three proposed bylaws should have read: The MRW Executive Board voted on and passed these three amendments on June 17, 2009.  The Executive Committee is not empowered to "vote on amendments".  MRW bylaws state that the governing body is the Executive Board and therefore it is the Executive Board only that has the power to approve or reject all issues duly presented.

The Moore Republican Women's bylaws were originally adopted in November, 1981.  Revisions were made periodically.  The most recent revisions prior to 2007 were made in 2004. 

In Spring, 2007, the bylaws were transcribed and are presented here.  During the summer of 2007 the bylaws were revised for further discussion, revision and approval by the Board, which occurred during the autumn.  The bylaw revisions were mailed to all members in December, 2007.  They were affirmed at the February 4th, 2008 meeting. 

During the summer of 2008 five amendments to the bylaws were presented for further discussion, revision and approval by the Board, which occurred in September.  The bylaw amendments were sent to all members.  They were affirmed at the October, 2008 meeting.
